Tail of the Dragon on a 2speed automatic
Roman's MOTO GUZZI Convert 1000
Robert's 2000 VFR 800 (after an old lady decided to get rid of his 98)

This ride was hatched in Robert's head years ago. Year after year Robert would mention how great it would be to ride through New York City and straight down the coast. Year after year I would be puzzled at what the hell he was talking about. To
ride through New York would obviously be the worst ride. Then, down the coast? That just means we get to drive in Jersey. I said OK this year we are going to do it. Robert called Roman and he rode out from Chicago. His Moto Guzzi , er wait his MOTO GUZZI Convert 1000 was just the bike to lead the way through New York. A 2 speed automatic 1000 cc. The clutch wasn't working on this ride but Roman would only be clocking about 3500 miles so who needs a clutch.
My bike would look like it was being chased by two giant bees for the next couple thousand miles. BZZZZZZZZZZ
Last fall a nice old lady decided that red was green and proceeded to remove Robert and his VFR 750 from an intersection. The 98 VFR was sent away cabled down on it's side ,lying on a flat bed wrecker. Robert luckily wasn't sent away the same way. Mutual of Q-tip insurance bought Robert a nice 2000 VFR 800 . He salvaged the GIVI bags, repairing one with parts ordered through GIVI. Having side bags can increase your chances of survival in an accident. The car bumper caught the GIVIs which gave Roberts foot the freedom to go flying off the bike (still attached to the rest of Robert).
Unable to reach Cape May N.J. before the last ferry left we had no choice to stay . Missed the Ferry by 15 minutes.
The guy behind us on the Honda low rider also missed the boat . He drove down from Maine that day.
Roman calls his people.
Full Kitchen. We ate out anyhoo. This is where we decided Yingling was to be the official beverage of our 05' OuterBanks Deals Gap Crab eating ride.
Moon shot through the rigging... Bright and early we catch the ferry in Cape May.
We coffeed up on the mello ride across to Lewes, Delaware.
We watched dolphin play in the water and we talked to several "biker" guys. Landing in Lewes we could taste the Crab in our minds. (?)
It would be Crisfield Maryland before we would enjoy the 8 leggers.
Soft shell and Hardshell we would have both so as not to feel as though we missed anything. Oh yeah BEER TOO. We spaent several hours enjoying this famous Maryland delicacy. SIDESTREET RESTAURANT SEAFOOD Crisfield, MD.. If it is crab you want my choice would be to go here. I have only had crab one time. It was delicious.
SOFT SHELL, MMMMMMMMMM
HARD SHELL, MMMMMMMMM
IF YOU ARE WONDERING , I LIKED THE SOFTSHELL THE MOST.
YOU EAT THE WHOLE THING.
Roman became a quick expert at eating the hardshells (despite his catcher's mitt size hands).
Johnson takes a hit
Johnson tries to get back
unloading baskets filled with crab
That's all folks.
Normally on bike trips we don't like to spend too much time eating during the day. Robert ,Roman and I had a blast spending hours eating and having a few beers. This was as much of a destination as anywhere else on our trip. We never heard of this place before. A man the Old Mill (which was closed) mentioned it to us .
Maryland is pretty nice riding ,fairly flat but a lot of countryside and farmland. We crossed into Virginia via the Chesapeake Bay bridge tunnel.
Robert fits his VFR with a video camera. It was a success and it is a blast to watch. Well if you are into bikes it is!!! We didn't speed...that much.
This was a popular Billboard on our trip.
